As part of ANZPAC’s efforts to develop a contextually appropriate extended producer responsibility (EPR) framework for plastic packaging across the Pacific, WREN designed a methodology and implemented a tailored brand audit to analyze plastic packaging present in Fiji at the national level. The work involved identifying which brands are responsible for materials entering these markets, whether through direct import, third-party import, or ocean currents.
WREN trained on-the-ground partners to collect materials and data from dumpsites, rivers, oceans, and beaches, generating a practical evidence base to inform EPR policy development across the region.
