As part of IUCN’s regional Closing the Caribbean Plastic Tap initiative, WREN led a national-level assessment of plastic waste flows and reduction partnerships across two Caribbean Island nations. The project focused on quantifying plastic waste generation and leakage across the waste management, tourism, and fisheries sectors, supported by detailed data mapping, stakeholder engagement, and validation processes.
WREN also assisted with the identification of key actors and partnership opportunities to inform future recycling and policy development. The work contributes to a broader regional effort to build adaptive, circular economy solutions that create local livelihood opportunities, particularly for women, youth, and community-based groups.
