In collaboration with an international team of experts, WREN’s Director, Dr. Amardeep Wander, is contributing to an assessment aimed at preventing the leakage of single-use plastics into the marine environment in Pacific Island Countries (PICs). Targeting Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, and Vanuatu, the project aims to provide these governments with a framework to reduce single-use plastic leakage. Through a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis that considers economic, social, and environmental factors, the study will inform decision-making, policies, and investment planning for the sustainable production and consumption of plastics.
