Piloting May Bruce Compost Sites and Facilitating Compost Training in Samoa

WREN’s Director, Dr. Amardeep Wander serves as the Technical Lead for the Greater Good Diaper Project, which aims to drive systematic change by collaborating with mothers at the village level to implement a system which involves delivering and collecting compostable diapers through a door-to-door service and using the compostable diapers to create compost. The WREN team was actively involved in implementing a pilot project in Samoa which involved setting up May Bruce Compost boxes, gathering the compostable diapers and training women to create an inoculant from locally sourced materials that aids in breaking down the compostable diapers and other organic materials into nutrient rich sol, which is then tested, certified and sold.
