WREN’s Director, Dr. Amardeep Wander, served as Technical Lead for the Greater Good Diaper Project, which aims to drive systemic change by collaborating with mothers at the village level to collect and compost compostable diapers through a door-to-door service. The WREN team implemented a pilot project in Samoa that involved setting up Maye Bruce compost boxes, gathering compostable diapers, and training women to create an inoculant from locally sourced materials that accelerates the breakdown of compostable diapers and other organic materials into nutrient-rich soil, which is then tested, certified, and sold.
